Water Service Line Material Notifications

Under the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), the County is required to provide every water customer that is served by a known lead, galvanized requiring replacement, or unknown material water service line with annual notifications. If your water service line is a confirmed lead, galvanized requiring replacement, or of unknown material, you will be receiving this notification in the mail. This notification will provide important information on any next steps and the health effects of lead.

Following initial notification, all customers served by lead, galvanized requiring replacement, or unknown material water service lines will receive notifications annually until:

  • The lead or galvanized water service line has been replaced at their property

  • The unknown water service line material has been verified, and confirmed to be a non-lead

If your water service line material is unknown, you can follow five simple steps to learn and report your pipe material. You can also view your service line material classification by searching your address. If you are unable to check your water service line material yourself, you can sign a temporary right of entry (ROE) form for an opportunity to have Fulton County’s contractor check it. The contractor will dig a small test hole near your water meter to look at the water service line material and then let you know the results. Please note that the contractor is only conducting material inspections at some properties, so signing this form does not guarantee an inspection.

To check your water line material, submit your test results, or fill out an ROE form, please visit the Checking and Reporting your Water Service Line Material webpage.
